I've been so busy writing that I forgot to update this blog...shame on me! And I claim family comes first. Ha!
I feel even worse because I didn't post on Zach's birthday - the one when he turned 14! YIKES! He's now been an official teenager for over a year, which makes me officially old. Oh, wait. I won't be OFFICIALLY old until May, when I turn - gulp - 40. Incidentally, Rob's been "old" for over three years now. (Sorry, honey. Couldn't resist).
Anyway, here's an update on the Schabs - because we know you're dying to know what we've been up to.
ROB - Still working for Cedar Crest. (I guess that's a good thing, since he's only been there two months). He's actually at an ice cream show right this minute (can you believe he left me at home? Grrrr...) When he's not working, you can find him in the driveway, shoveling. We've had some snow storm doozies lately!
LYNDA - I quit my part-time job (this was my last week) to stay home and write, full time. God dumped a slew of writing opportunities in my lap and I am excited for the chance to pursue this little dream of mine. Despite the fact that I will now be home every day, don't call me just to chat. I won't be watching soaps all afternoon in my jammies while pigging out on gallons of ice cream (as tempting as that may be). I will be working! A lot! Lots of writing assignments to complete and maybe I'll even finish that novel!
Here's a couple of plugs...I work for WahmZone, Faithwriters, FaithReaders, and for fun (which really means, for free) I also write for Type A Mom. Come and check out these great sites! And visit my writing blog, On the Write Track, to keep up with all my writing-related stuff.
ZACH - Anxiously awaiting Tennis season. In the meantime, Grandpa Vermeer gave him a ping-gong table for his birthday and he's practicing his skills on this miniature tennis court. And I have to say, he's getting REALLY good (still not good enough to beat me every time, though). Other than that, it's pretty much homework, video games, and A.I.M. Oh - and praying extra hard for more snow days.
LYNDSEY - Just got a few inches cut off her hair. Looking forward to starting drum lessons this week. Talking on the phone. Shopping for clothes, crafts, and pig stuff - being a typical pre-teen girl. Lyndsey's big news this past month is finding out her best friend from school, Alexis, has a brain tumor. It's probably not surprising when I say, she's taking it rather hard. Please pray for Alexis and her family as they face some difficult days ahead.
I apologize again for being AWOL for so long. Now that I'll be home all day with nothing to do (ha!), I promise to do my best to keep up with posting on The Schab Shananigans. And I'll try to get some pictures up soon.
Be blessed!
