On Saturday, Lyndsey had the opportunity to be the PLAY BALL KID OF THE GAME for the West Michigan Whitecaps. It was a great game...the Whitecaps ended up coming back from behind to win it in extra innings. But the highlight of the day was seeing Lyndsey belt out, "Play Ball!" She did GREAT!
That was OUR highlight. The best part for Lyndsey was meeting Frankie the Swimming Pig - one of the Whitecaps' mascots. Since we all know how much she loves pigs (and has a bazillion that are hogging up space in her room to prove it), it comes as no surprise that she was squealing with joy over this moment.

An Overdue Update
Ok...time for an update.
Things have been crazy (what else is new, right?).
Here's the latest:
Things have been crazy (what else is new, right?).
Here's the latest:
ROB: He's been busy selling milk! Things are great down on the farm. The Country Dairy Farm, that is. Still working for Cedar Crest and coming home to fill our freezer with lots of ice cream. (Not so good for my diet. Although, I've been pretty good. And Weight Watchers does have some tasty frozen desserts.) Anyway, as you can see from the picture, Rob's mooooooooved into his position at Cedar Crest, nicely.

LYNDA: Besides being very busy with my new, work-at-home freelance business, I recently received great news! I am a finalist in the ACFW Genesis Contest! The judges in the first round who put my manuscript in the finals were published authors (WAY COOL, right?) and both final round judges are well-known literary agents. I am thrilled to get my work in front of them. Thrilled AND scared to death. Finaling in this contest is a huge honor for me. Winners won't be announced until the annual ACFW conference in Minneapolis this September. Five months seems like an eternity to wait for the results but at least that gives me time to finish my manuscript just in case, you know, it's requested or something. :-)
Besides work, I've been running the kids around to tennis practice and drum lessons, filling in at Jack & Jills about once a week and helping to get a new Christian social network going. Check out GodLinked. For those who love MySpace, it's a great alternative - and no junk!
Finally, I'm helping to organize a fundraising event for Lyndsey's friend, Alexis Puruleski, who has a malignant brain tumor. We're praying the event is a huge success! Any additional prayers for Alexis and her family would be greatly appreciated!
ZACH - Right now, Zach is all about tennis. Actually, he's at practice even as I type. He played his first match yesterday (doubles) and they won! Woo-hoo! He recently got a new racket and new shoes so he should be good to go for the rest of the season. Other than tennis, Zach spends his time on MySpace (gotta get that kid plugged in to GodLinked!), chatting with his friends on A.I.M. and begging for a cell phone (which he MIGHT get this summer.) The pictures posted below are only a FEW of the hundreds he's taken of himself to post online. He's very blessed to have such a nice sister who lets him borrow her digital camera!

Til the next update.....please keep Alexis and her family in your prayers. Thanks!

LYNDSEY: Lyndsey has a new love: the drums! Her teacher, Casey, says she is a natural and if all of his students picked it up that quickly and came to lessons as prepared as she is, his job would be a lot easier (and more rewarding!). Other than playing the drums, Lyndsey has been doing crafts, chatting with her friends on A.I.M. and visiting with Alexis, who is is her final round of chemo. Check out the pics of her playing the drums. We may soon have a rock star in our midst!

Til the next update.....please keep Alexis and her family in your prayers. Thanks!
